A real pink peony opens from a bud into full bloom. The seven small flowers below it are one for each of Bloom's domains; choosing one shows that flower blooming. Tapping anywhere on the page plants a small flower.

Bloom

Every child is good at something.

Opening

You cannot tell in a week.

Week ten

In full bloom.

Found early, by playing

Most of us find out late. Bloom finds it early, through small games you play together, never through tests.

  1. Week one. They play something. It means nothing yet, and Bloom says nothing.
  2. Week three. They ask for the same kind of game again. The first real signal.
  3. Week six. Two of the seven are further along than the rest.

Petal by petal

You know what to feed, and so do they. The gift was always there. Now it has room.

The gift map

Seven ways of being good at something.

Bloom watches all seven, and tells you which two are lighting up.

One real map, mid-week. Building and Strategy, from four small things nobody set out to measure.

A Gift Map in Bloom, with Building and Strategy inked brighter than the other five domains.

How it works

No test. No score. No wrong answer to give.

Everything in Bloom is a game the two of you play together, away from the screen as often as on it. It watches which ones a child comes back to, and builds from there.

  1. Discover

    A new adventure, every day

Bloom picks one playful quest a day and hands it to the two of you. A rescue built out of cushions, a rhyme rally, a story with the gaps left in. Nothing to mark, nothing to get wrong.

    Bloom’s Discover screen.
  2. School

    Every subject, at their pace

The Australian primary curriculum, topic by topic, Foundation to Year 6. The same reading, maths, science and coding they get at school, turned into something you play at the kitchen table.

    Bloom’s School screen.
  3. Grow

Turn what they love into a strength

Once something lights up, Bloom pushes further in that direction in small steps, so the gift actually gets bigger instead of being noticed once and written down.

    Bloom’s Grow screen.
  4. Life skills

    Real-world skills, made playful

Money, saving, what things cost, how to bounce back, how to get a thing finished. The parts school leaves out, in games short enough to do before dinner.

    Bloom’s Life skills screen.
  5. Quick Thinks

Big thinks, one line at a time

Would You Rather, Rank It, Odd One Out. Thirty seconds each, and the answer is never the point. It is hearing them explain why, in their own words.

    Bloom’s Quick Thinks screen.
  6. Grown-ups only

A letter that gets to know your kid

Every Sunday, behind a PIN: what Bloom believes so far, which two domains are pulling ahead, and how school and life skills are actually landing. Yours to disagree with.

Bloom is about who they are.

Spark is about what they do.

Same mum. Same kitchen table.

Spark

The cabin wakes up.

Get dressed, brush teeth, eat breakfast, and the cabin on screen comes awake as each one lands. No points for speed. No leaderboard against other children. A small building that lights up because they got themselves ready.

Psst. Tap anywhere on the page, and the little one will hop over to you.

Spark's Morning Cabin, chores ticking off one at a time.

A day with rooms in it.

Spark is built as places, not a checklist. A child walks the day rather than working through it.

The day starts somewhere. Chores tick off and the cabin wakes up behind them.

Speaking up. Bravery. Kindness. The quests are values, wearing a costume.

The night version. Same idea, lower lights, aimed at winding down.

Spark's Bedtime Poem screen.

Bedtime Poem

A poem about the day they actually had, written fresh, and read aloud.

Spark's Treasure Cove screen.

Treasure Cove

Sparks buy time with you. Movie night, their pick. Not more screen time, unless you say so.

There is a Parent Lighthouse behind a PIN, where you edit all of it. Nothing on your child's side is fixed by us.

Every night, about eight

Spark writes them a poem about their own day.

When you helped your family today, you showed such care,

And when you ordered your food, you were brave and fair.

These things that you did came from a heart so kind,

The greatest of treasures that anyone can find.

Kindness is a light that shines from deep inside,

It makes the whole world better, spreads far and wide.

So rest your sweet head with a smile.
